Geography VR Experience
We had an absolutely amazing time as we learnt about different landmarks of the Americas using virtual reality headsets. We were taken on a journey from Central Park, NY, all the way down south to the Chichen Itza Mayan complex in what is now Mexico.
The activities were a great ignition for our next topic of 'The New World'.
NSPCC Number Day 2019
We really enjoyed completing the carousel of Maths activities in the hall to celebrate Number Day. We had opportunities to practise different practically skills, including measuring, weighing and constructing 3D shapes.
We’re looking forward to next year already!
This year, we have really enjoyed looking at examples of street art from around Manchester. We had a go at recreating some different examples, and used ICT to design our own graffiti tags. Our work culminated in a display outside our classroom for us to show off all our creations!
In our French lessons this half term, we have been learning about Madagascar. We learnt about 'les points cardinaux', or the points of a compass.
We have learnt how to say north (Nord), south (Sud), east (Est) and west (Ouest). We have also been learning about geographical features in French and have designed our own islands using new vocabulary.
Have a look at some of our work!
World War I Poetry
To mark 100 years since the end of the Great War, we have been writing our own poems inspired by life in the trenches. We started this unit of work with a fantastic viewing of 'Time Capsule 1918' performance, who visited our school.
Have a look at some examples of our work!
In our P.E. lessons so far this year, we have been practising our gymnastics during our indoor P.E. lessons, and refining our hockey skills whilst outdoors.
We have really enjoyed the competitive element of our hockey lessons and are getting much better with our tackling and ball control.
In September, we were lucky enough to be invited again to attend the Crucial Crew workshop hosted by Trafford. There were a number of different speakers there from different agencies, including: representatives from GM Police; a volunteer from St. John's Ambulance; Metrolink safety officers; British Transport Police and more!
We learnt all about how to keep ourselves safe when out and about, including railway safety, learning about anti-social behaviour and even some first aid! We really enjoyed the day and learnt a lot!
