Professional Development and Learning Opportunities at

Park Road Academy

At Park Road Academy Primary School, we are proud to host a range of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) events throughout the academic year, welcoming educators and school leaders from other schools and academy trusts to share in our practice and expertise.

We believe that the most powerful professional development goes beyond presentations and theory, which is why our CPD opportunities include hands-on experiences, live classroom observations and in-the-moment professional learning. Visitors have the opportunity to see teaching, learning and school systems in action, engage directly with experienced practitioners, explore practical strategies and reflect on how effective approaches can be adapted within their own settings.

Our events encourage professional dialogue, collaboration and the sharing of ideas, providing meaningful opportunities to learn from real classroom practice rather than simply hearing about it. By opening our classrooms and sharing our approaches, we aim to inspire, challenge and support fellow educators while continuing to reflect on and strengthen our own practice.

Our commitment is to provide purposeful, practical and high-quality professional learning that makes a genuine difference to teaching, leadership and ultimately the experiences and outcomes of children across the wider education community.

We recently hosted Empowering Mathematics - Strategies for lesson design, manipulatives and anxiety reduction. This is what attendees had to say....

Miss Johnson – St Mary's Primary School, Denton:  " Loved it! Got so many ideas I can't wait to try with my class. Feeling inspired and ready!"

Miss Furness – Greenfield International School: "This course has completely changed how I approach maths in the classroom — practical, engaging, and packed with ideas to help every child feel confident and capable.”
