This fantastic run saw Park Road qualify for the semi-finals, where they continued their dominant form with a 20-10 win against St Monica’s.

In the final, the team came up against a strong Willows side and, despite giving it their all, were beaten 25-5. Nevertheless, the team came away as tournament runners-up — a phenomenal achievement for their first ever tag rugby outing!

Well done to all the players who showed brilliant skill, teamwork, and determination throughout the event. What a fantastic start to Park Road’s tag rugby journey!

Year 5 Shine at Sports Leadership Festival!

On a fantastic afternoon of sport and teamwork, a group of our Year 5 pupils attended a Sports Leadership Festival at Cloverlea Primary School, where they took another big step towards earning their Sports Leadership certificate and qualification.

Our pupils were tasked with leading engaging and energetic sessions for Year 2 children from various Timperley schools. With confidence, creativity and teamwork, they delivered a brilliant sequence of games themed around Capture the Flag, encouraging teamwork, communication, and fun.

The event was a fantastic opportunity for our students to build their leadership skills and share their enthusiasm for sport with younger children. A huge well done to all involved – you represented Park Road brilliantly!

Friendly Victory in the Sunshine for Park Road!

On a beautiful sunny afternoon on Thursday 15th May, the Park Road football team took on Willows in a highly competitive and intense friendly match. Right from kick-off, both sides showed great energy and determination, with strong defensive displays and some excellent saves from both goalkeepers keeping the game level for much of the match.

The deadlock was finally broken in Park Road’s favour after a brilliant moment of quick thinking. Following a good save and charge from the Willows goalkeeper, a sharp-minded Park Road midfielder reacted instantly to fire a shot into the open goal, securing a well-earned 1-0 win for the team.

A great performance from all involved in a fantastic, hard-fought game of football!

Champions! Team Win Altrincham FC Summer Girls Tournament

On Friday 9th May, the Park Road football team put in a fantastic series of performances to win the Altrincham FC Summer Tournament in style!

The group stage began with a hard-fought 1-0 win against St Vincent’s. Despite the opposition having the better of the game at times, the children showed brilliant resilience to grind out a result. Confidence then grew as they followed up with a commanding 3-0 victory over Heyes Lane, before putting on a show in their final group game with an 8-0 triumph over Broadheath, with goals coming from all areas of the pitch.

In the final, it was a rematch with St Vincent’s, but this time Park Road controlled the game more confidently. A brilliantly taken free-kick proved to be the difference as the girls held strong to seal a 1-0 win and lift the trophy!

A huge congratulations to all the players – an incredible team effort and a well-deserved victory!

Team Battles Hard at Altrincham FC Summer Tournament

On Friday 9th May, our football team took part in the Altrincham FC Summer Boys Tournament, competing in a challenging group against two of the strongest teams in the competition – Heyes Lane and Altrincham Prep School.

The boys started with a narrow 1-0 defeat to Heyes Lane, showing resilience and fighting spirit throughout. They followed this up with a well-earned 0-0 draw against Altrincham Prep, who would go on to win the tournament – a testament to our team’s determined defending and organisation. Another close 0-0 draw with Heyes Lane (who went on to finish as finalists) kept hopes alive, before a final 2-0 loss to Altrincham Prep rounded off the group stage.

Despite the results, the children gave absolutely everything, worked hard for each other, and showed great character against top-level opposition. A brilliant effort from everyone involved – well done!
