Manchester United Mixed Tournament – 16.01.26
On Thursday 16th January, our mixed team took part in the Manchester United Tournament, competing against a large number of strong schools from across the region. The team put in an excellent shift throughout the day and finished a very respectable 6th overall, a fantastic achievement in such a competitive event.
The group stage began with a solid 0–0 draw, setting the tone for a resilient and well-organised performance. This was followed by a 1–0 win, showing the team’s ability to remain patient and clinical when chances came their way. Despite a tough defeat against strong opposition later in the group, the team responded superbly with another 1–0 victory, highlighting their determination and togetherness.
As the tournament progressed, the children continued to work tirelessly, battling through a demanding schedule of matches. Further draws demonstrated the team’s defensive strength and discipline, while narrow defeats came only after hard-fought contests against very strong sides. The tournament ended on a high with an impressive 2–1 win, a fitting reward for the team’s effort, commitment, and teamwork across the day.
Overall, the team played with great spirit, resilience, and positivity, representing Park Road superbly throughout the competition. A brilliant experience and performance for everyone involved—well done!
