Anti-Bullying
Every child. Every voice. Every day.
At Park Road Academy, every child has the right to feel safe, valued, respected and included. Our commitment to preventing bullying is woven into school life, from our curriculum and pupil leadership to our safeguarding practices and the way we listen and respond to concerns.

Our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors
Our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors are pupil leaders who help make Park Road Academy a welcoming and inclusive place for everyone.
They promote kindness, model respectful behaviour, contribute to anti-bullying activities, encourage children to speak to trusted adults and help reinforce the message that bullying should never be ignored.
Ambassadors do not investigate incidents or take responsibility for safeguarding other pupils. Their important role is to raise awareness, provide positive leadership and help children access adult support.
Understanding Bullying
Bullying generally involves repeated or persistent harmful behaviour, targeting an individual or group and/or an imbalance of power. We carefully consider the impact, context, frequency and safeguarding implications of every concern.
We do not wait for behaviour to be repeated before acting. A single serious incident of harmful behaviour will also be addressed through our behaviour and safeguarding procedures.

Listen and safeguard - We listen privately, take the concern seriously and ensure the child's immediate safety.
Record and investigate - We record concerns appropriately on CPOMS, establish the facts and speak sensitively to those involved.
Respond appropriately - We follow our Behaviour Policy and safeguarding procedures, considering the circumstances, impact and needs of the children.
Support everyone affected - We support children who have experienced harm and provide appropriate intervention for children whose behaviour has caused harm.
Communicate with families - We involve parents and carers appropriately while respecting confidentiality.
Monitor and review - We continue checking that harmful behaviour has stopped and the child feels safe, using what we learn to strengthen prevention.
