In Maths, Year 2 have been using a range of practical manipulatives to help them understand and work out non-unit fractions. The children used cubes, counters and fraction resources to build, compare and represent fractions such as two thirds and three quarters.

Through hands-on exploration, they developed a deeper understanding of equal parts and how fractions relate to the whole. It has been fantastic to see the children using mathematical vocabulary confidently and explaining their reasoning so clearly.
