Exploring Rivers
Year 3 enjoyed a fantastic local visit to the River Bollin as part of our Geography learning. The children explored the key features of the river, using geographical vocabulary to identify and describe what they could see in the surrounding environment.
During the visit, the children also measured the speed of the river and discussed how rivers move and change over time. They showed great curiosity when investigating deposition, carefully observing how natural materials break down and return nutrients to the environment.
It was a brilliant hands-on learning experience, helping the children to connect their classroom learning with the world around them.
