In our science unit, Why is the Heart the Most Important Pump We Own?, Year 6 has been exploring the circulatory system—what it consists of, why it’s essential, and how to keep it healthy. We’ve learnt about the heart’s vital role in pumping blood around the body and discussed ways to maintain a strong circulatory system through exercise and a balanced diet. A highlight of our learning was a visit from a retired cardiologist, who answered our many questions and inspired us to consider future careers in science and medicine!
