As part of our learning about the digestive system, Year 4 took part in a fascinating food-tasting experiment to observe how our body&#39;s enzymes begin breaking down food before we even start chewing. The children held rich tea biscuits, chocolate, and imperial mints in their mouths for as long as possible without chewing, allowing their saliva and natural enzymes to work. They carefully observed and recorded how each food changed over time, discussing how digestion begins the moment food enters the mouth. It was a great hands-on way to understand the science behind our body&#39;s incredible digestive process!
