Can We Save the Vulture?

Year 5 embarked on a meaningful mission to save one of nature’s most important but misunderstood creatures – the vulture. It all began with Maverick, an African Hooded Vulture, who visited our school to ignite a passion for wildlife conservation. The children learnt about the critical role vultures play in our eco-system and the threats they face.

Inspired by Maverick's visit, Year 5 began writing their own persuasive speeches, calling on others to join the effort to protect vultures from extinction.

To bring their words to life, they have recorded videos of themselves reading their speeches with passion and conviction. These videos showcase their growing confidence and understanding of how we can all contribute to saving the vultures.

Through this journey, they are not just learning about vultures – they’re becoming advocates for wildlife, driven by Maverick’s story.
