In their current science unit, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, the children have been exploring the fascinating topic of light. They have learnt how light helps us see, how shadows are formed, and that shadows always create the same shape as the object that casts them. They have also discovered how to create different-shaped and coloured shadows. Additionally, they have investigated reflection and refraction, deepening their understanding of how light interacts with different surfaces. To bring their learning to life, the children made shadow puppets to retell the adventure stories they have written in English, combining their scientific knowledge with creativity.
