Year 4 Gymnastics – Bridges, Arches and Balances 🤸

In PE this half-term, Year 4 have been developing their gymnastics skills by exploring bridges and arches. The children learnt how to create strong and controlled shapes, holding their balance carefully while working on flexibility and strength.

A big focus has also been on using points and patches to balance. Points are the smaller parts of the body such as hands, feet, knees or elbows, while patches are the larger surface areas like the back, stomach or side. By combining these, the children discovered how to balance in different ways, experimenting with creative positions and smooth transitions.
