Geography: Why do we love to be beside the seaside?

To ignite our new Geography cycle, we were thrilled to welcome Aqualease into school for an exciting, hands-on rock pool experience. The children loved getting up close to a range of fascinating sea creatures, including starfish, sea anemones, sea urchins, spider crabs, hermit crabs and shore crabs. This immersive session sparked curiosity, great questions and plenty of excitement about coastal environments. 📸

We have now launched our big Geography question: Why do we love to be beside the seaside? Using Blackpool as our local case study, the children have begun exploring what makes this iconic UK seaside town so special.
