Basketball
Year 5 have been developing their basketball skills in PE, focusing on the key techniques needed to play effectively as part of a team. The children practised different types of passing, controlled dribbling and shooting with increasing accuracy, while also learning how to protect the ball and keep possession when under pressure. Through a range of drills and small-sided games, pupils had to make quick decisions, move into space and communicate with their teammates. These sessions have helped to develop coordination, agility and spatial awareness, alongside important skills such as teamwork, resilience and tactical thinking. It has been fantastic to see the children becoming increasingly confident and competitive in their basketball play! 🏀
