Year 1 really enjoyed our recent unit on colour mixing. We explored the primary colours, red, blue, and yellow and discovered how to combine them to create secondary colours like green, orange, and purple. The children had lots of fun experimenting with mixing colours to see what new shades they could make. We also looked at the work of artists Jasper Johns and Clarice Cliff, and used their styles as inspiration for our own paintings. It was wonderful to see the children expressing themselves creatively while learning about colour and composition.
