Starting the Year with a Wild Assembly: Animals and Habitats in Year 4
To kick off our exciting science cycle on animals and their habitats, the children at Park Road Academy Primary School were treated to a special assembly at the beginning of the school year. The assembly featured a captivating encounter with a variety of incredible animals, allowing the children to get up close and personal with nature. Amongst the amazing creatures they met were a majestic hawk, a striking Red-legged seriema, an inquisitive ferret, a graceful barn owl, and an impressive vulture. This hands-on experience not only sparked curiosity but also laid the foundation for our upcoming lessons about ecosystems, adaptations, and the fascinating ways animals thrive in their natural environments. It was a wild and wonderful start to our science journey this year!
