Year 6 Sportshall Athletics Success!

On Wednesday 15th January, Year 6 attended the Sportshall Athletics competition at Altrincham Grammar for Girls, competing against other local schools in the area. The entire Year 6 class participated, showcasing their determination and teamwork across a variety of track and field events.

The event was filled with excitement, and the children displayed excellent sportsmanship and effort throughout. A special congratulations goes to the girls' team, who triumphed in the very first race of the competition, setting the tone for an enjoyable and memorable day.

Well done to all our Year 6 participants for their hard work and enthusiasm! You represented Park Road Academy brilliantly.

Manchester United Boys Football Tournament

On Wednesday, 22nd January, the boys' football team represented Park Road Academy at the Manchester United Football Tournament, competing against schools from across the region.

The team put in a strong effort throughout the tournament, with standout performances in a 3-0 victory over St Bernard’s, where one player scored an impressive hat-trick, and a well-earned 1-0 win against Charlestown, with our midfielder finding the net. Despite some tough matches and a controversial penalty decision in one game, the boys showed great determination and resilience.

Finishing 5th out of 8 teams overall, the boys can be proud of their performances. Well done to all involved!

Manchester United Girls Football Tournament

On Monday, 3rd February, the Year 5 and 6 girls' football team competed in the Manchester United Football Tournament, putting in a series of strong performances against tough opposition.

The team showed great determination throughout, starting with a narrow 3-2 defeat against St Bernard’s in a closely contested match. They bounced back impressively with back-to-back 1-0 victories over Brookburn and Light Oaks, demonstrating solid defensive play and clinical finishing.

A thrilling 2-2 draw with St Mary’s followed, before another tight match saw the team edged out 2-1 by St Mark’s. A well-earned 0-0 draw against St Joseph’s showcased the team’s resilience, and they finished on a high with a 1-0 win against St Paul’s.

The final game saw Park Road take on Park Road Sale in a competitive 1-1 draw, rounding off a fantastic effort from the team. Their hard work and commitment paid off as they finished 5th out of 9 teams overall. A great performance from all involved!

Key Stage 1 Gymnastics Success at Gymfinity - 04.02.25

Our Key Stage 1 gymnastics team had a fantastic experience at the recent Gymfinity event, representing Park Road Academy with enthusiasm and skill. The children took part in a range of activities, including floor routines, vault, and balance exercises, showcasing their hard work and dedication to gymnastics.

A huge congratulations to the entire team for their excellent performances throughout the event. A special mention goes to one of our gymnasts, who achieved an incredible 3rd place in the vault competition – an outstanding achievement!

Well done to all involved for their brilliant effort, determination, and sportsmanship!

Park Road Academy Competes at the Sale Leisure Centre Swimming Gala - 05.02.25

Our swimming teams had the fantastic opportunity to compete in the Trafford Schools Swimming Gala at Sale Leisure Centre. The children showcased great determination and effort as they took part in a variety of races, including backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle, against some very strong competition.

Although we didn’t finish near the top of the leaderboard, the team gave it their all and represented the school brilliantly. Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and sportsmanship were clear to see, and we are incredibly proud of their efforts.

Well done to all our swimmers for taking part in such a fantastic eventnd showcased some outstanding football throughout the day.
