Open Evening
At Park Road Academy, safeguarding is our highest priority.
For this reason, we hold two annual Open Evenings for prospective parents and carers. The first of this year's events took place on the 10th November 2025. The booking form for our second event, which will take place on Monday 20th April at 6pm, will open in January.
Why don’t we show parents and carers around during the school day?
Welcoming unknown visitors into the building during teaching time presents a significant safeguarding risk. We cannot open our doors to individuals we have not identified, as this could place our pupils and staff in a vulnerable position. In addition, having regular groups of visitors moving through classrooms can be disruptive for some of our children and it impacts the high-quality learning environment we are committed to maintaining.
While we appreciate that this may not suit everyone’s preferences and although some other schools may offer tours during the school day - our safeguarding procedures are exceptionally robust, and we make no apologies for putting children’s safety, wellbeing and learning first.
Please rest assured that, if your child is offered a place at Park Road Academy Primary School, there will be many opportunities to build a strong relationship with us before your child starts school. In the summer term, we hold a Meet and Greet event where you will meet your child’s class teacher and key staff members. You will also be welcomed into the school environment. Additionally, we offer a home visit so that we can meet your child in a familiar setting. Settling-in sessions take place prior to starting school, and we are always at the end of the phone should you need us in between.
Our website is also a great place to learn more about us, visit our class and curriculum pages. Our School Gallery provides a great insight into our environment too - Click here to take a look at our school gallery.
We also have an 'X' account @parkroadtimp - please take a visit to see our recent posts.
Park Road Academy is an oversubscribed school with an outstanding reputation. Our approach has served our families extremely well, and we kindly ask that you trust in our processes — even if they differ from those of other schools.
For parents and carers looking for a school place with Looked After Child (LAC/PLAC) status or those with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP), please contact the school office. The school will seek clarification with the responsible local authority before we confirm visits.
Many thanks,
