Growing Our Own at School

We are proud to have our very own polytunnel here at school, where pupils take an active role in growing a range of fresh fruit and vegetables throughout the year. This hands-on experience helps children develop a deeper understanding of where food comes from, encourages healthy eating habits, and supports learning across the curriculum.

Whenever possible, the produce grown in our polytunnel is harvested and used in our school kitchen, where it may be prepared and served alongside our delicious meals. This fantastic initiative not only promotes sustainability, but also gives pupils the opportunity to enjoy the results of their hard work at the lunch table.

Food at the Heart of the Community 

Food is also at the heart of our school celebrations. Throughout the year, we mark special occasions, cultural events and achievements by coming together to share food, whether through themed lunches, special assemblies, community gatherings or seasonal celebrations. These moments help to strengthen our school community, allowing pupils, staff and families to connect, learn from one another and celebrate in a warm, joyful and inclusive way.
