
Girls’ Football League – Final Fixtures (17.03.26)
The girls’ team brought their league season to an excellent close with a fantastic set of performances in their final round of fixtures.
The afternoon began in brilliant fashion with a 4–0 victory over Well Green, as the team played with confidence and attacking flair. The girls moved the ball well and created plenty of chances, setting the tone for the rest of the evening.
Momentum continued in the second game with a hard-fought 1–0 win against Elmridge. It was a tightly contested match, but the team remained organised and disciplined to secure another important victory.
Next up was Forest Prep, where the girls once again showed their quality and determination, claiming another 1–0 win after a strong all-round team performance.
The final game of the league season saw Park Road produce another superb display, finishing with a convincing 3–0 victory over Bollin. The team played some excellent football and finished the day on a real high.
These outstanding results meant the girls finished 4th overall in the league out of 10 teams, a brilliant achievement and a reflection of the hard work, teamwork, and determination shown throughout the season.
A huge well done to the entire team for a fantastic campaign and for representing Park Road so proudly!

Boys’ Football League Fixtures – 10.03.26
The boys completed their final round of league fixtures with a series of hard-fought matches that showed plenty of determination and character.
The afternoon began with an exciting contest against Well Green, where Park Road battled well in a closely fought game that finished 3–2. Despite the narrow defeat, the team showed great attacking intent and pushed their opponents right to the final whistle.
The second match against Elmridge was another entertaining encounter. Park Road produced a strong performance and earned a 2–2 draw, demonstrating resilience and teamwork to secure a well-deserved point.
After the break, the boys faced Forest Prep. The team continued to work hard and created opportunities going forward, but ultimately fell to a 3–1 defeat despite a spirited effort.
In the final game of the day against Bollin, the boys kept battling and never stopped competing, even as fatigue began to set in after a demanding afternoon of football.
Although it was a challenging end to the league campaign, the boys showed excellent effort, teamwork, and determination throughout the fixtures. Their attitude and commitment across the season have been fantastic, and they should be proud of how they have represented Park Road. Well done to the whole team!

Sale Spring Cup – Girls Year 3 & 4 Football Tournament (6.03.26)
The Year 3 and 4 girls’ football team represented Park Road brilliantly at the Sale Spring Cup Tournament, competing against several local schools in a fantastic afternoon of football.
The team started the group stage in excellent form with a 2–0 victory over Brooklands, showing great teamwork and attacking play. This was followed by a closely contested 1–1 draw with St Joseph’s, before another tight game ended 0–0 against St Vincent’s. These strong performances meant the team finished 2nd in their group, earning a place in the semi-finals.
In the semi-final, Park Road faced the eventual tournament winners, Park Road Sale, in a thrilling match. The game finished 1–1 after normal time, with both teams battling hard throughout. The match then went to penalties, where both goalkeepers produced outstanding saves. After a dramatic shootout that went to sudden death, Park Road were narrowly beaten 2–1.
The team then moved into the 3rd place playoff, where they once again faced St Joseph’s. Another very tight match followed, ending 0–0, meaning the teams shared 3rd place.
Overall, it was a fantastic tournament for the girls, who showed determination, teamwork and great sportsmanship throughout the day. Finishing 3rd out of 8 teams is a brilliant achievement—well done to everyone involved!

Swimming Gala 2026 – Sale Leisure Centre
This year’s Swimming Gala 2026 took place at Sale Leisure Centre, where Park Road proudly entered both a boys’ team and a girls’ team. It was a fantastic day of competition, with swimmers giving their absolute all in every race.
Across the individual events, there were some brilliant performances. The boys’ team secured victory in the breaststroke race, showcasing excellent technique and determination in the pool. Not to be outdone, the girls’ team also claimed first place in their breaststroke event, setting the tone for an incredible afternoon.
The girls continued to build momentum as the gala progressed, delivering outstanding performances in the team races. They powered their way to victory in both the medley relay and the freestyle relay, demonstrating superb teamwork, strong transitions, and relentless effort from start to finish.
By the end of the competition, the boys finished 7th overall, battling hard in a very competitive field. Meanwhile, the girls were crowned champions, finishing 1st overall in a remarkable achievement for the team.
A huge well done to all of our swimmers for their commitment, sportsmanship, and determination. An unforgettable day in the pool and a fantastic achievement for Park Road! 🏆

Girls’ Football League Games – 03.03.26
The girls returned for Week 3 of their league campaign, ready to take on another set of competitive fixtures.
The evening began with two narrow 1–0 defeats, first against Altrincham CofE in a very tight contest, and then against Hale Prep. Both matches were closely fought, with little separating the teams, and Park Road can feel slightly unlucky not to have come away with at least a point from either game.
However, the third match saw the team truly come together. Against Bollin, Park Road produced a confident and composed performance, controlling much of the game and creating the better chances. Their efforts were rewarded with a lovely, well-taken finish to secure a deserved 1–0 victory.
The final game of the evening brought even more positivity, as the girls delivered an excellent performance to defeat Forest Prep 3–1. The goals were superbly taken, with some particularly impressive team play leading to well-worked finishes. It was a fantastic way to end the night and a true reflection of the team’s quality and determination.
The girls showed resilience, character, and growing confidence throughout the evening and will look forward to taking on the challenge of the next fixtures. Well done to the whole team!

Football League Games – 24.02.26
The team was back in league action on Tuesday 24th February, competing in the Small Schools League and producing a series of determined and resilient performances.
The afternoon began with a well-earned 0–0 draw against Forest Prep. The team were organised, disciplined, and worked tirelessly to keep a clean sheet. There were moments where Park Road looked threatening going forward, but the defensive shape and teamwork were particularly impressive.
After the break, the boys followed up with another strong 0–0 draw against Bollin. This was a tightly contested match, with both sides battling hard in midfield. Park Road showed great composure under pressure and demonstrated how much they have developed defensively this season, securing a second consecutive clean sheet.
The final two fixtures proved more challenging, with defeats against Willows and Hale Prep. However, despite the scorelines, the boys continued to show commitment, effort, and teamwork right until the final whistle.
Overall, the two clean sheets highlight the team’s growing resilience and organisation at the back. There are plenty of positives to take from the afternoon, and the boys continue to show great character as they develop together as a team.

KS1 Gymnastics Festival – 10.02.26
On Tuesday 10th February, four children from Year 2 proudly represented Park Road at the KS1 Gymfinity Gymnastics Festival. The event gave the children the opportunity to take part in a variety of gymnastic activities, testing their balance, coordination, strength, and confidence across multiple disciplines.
The team approached each event with enthusiasm and determination, embracing every challenge with smiles and positivity. From floor routines to vault work, the children showed excellent focus, effort, and resilience throughout the festival, making the most of a fantastic sporting experience.
A special highlight of the day came in the vault competition, where one of our gymnasts achieved an impressive 2nd place finish, a brilliant reward for their hard work and commitment.
Overall, it was an incredible effort from the entire team, who represented Park Road superbly and thoroughly enjoyed the event. Well done to all involved for a fantastic morning of gymnastics!

Manchester United Girls Tournament – 29.01.26
On Wednesday 29th January, our team delivered an outstanding performance at the Manchester United Tournament, finishing an impressive 2nd place out of 8 teams. In a highly competitive event, the title was decided in the final game of the day, where the team narrowly missed out against Park Road Sale, who went on to win the tournament.
The competition began in emphatic fashion with a 4–0 victory, setting the tone for a confident and dominant display. This was followed by a hard-fought 1–0 win, showing composure and determination in a tight contest. Momentum continued with a strong 2–0 victory, as the team demonstrated excellent teamwork, sharp passing, and solid defensive organisation.
One of the standout performances came midway through the tournament with a 6–0 win, highlighting attacking flair, high energy, and clinical finishing. The team then secured another 2–0 victory, keeping them firmly in contention for top spot going into the final stages of the tournament.
A competitive 1–1 draw meant everything rested on the final fixture, where the team gave everything but were narrowly defeated by Park Road Sale, 2-0. Despite the disappointment, the players showed resilience, teamwork, and excellent sportsmanship throughout.
Finishing 2nd overall is a fantastic achievement, and the team should be extremely proud of their effort, attitude, and commitment across the tournament. An outstanding performance and a brilliant representation of Park Road — very well done to all involved!

Manchester United Mixed Tournament – 16.01.26
On Thursday 16th January, our mixed team took part in the Manchester United Tournament, competing against a large number of strong schools from across the region. The team put in an excellent shift throughout the day and finished a very respectable 6th overall, a fantastic achievement in such a competitive event.
The group stage began with a solid 0–0 draw, setting the tone for a resilient and well-organised performance. This was followed by a 1–0 win, showing the team’s ability to remain patient and clinical when chances came their way. Despite a tough defeat against strong opposition later in the group, the team responded superbly with another 1–0 victory, highlighting their determination and togetherness.
As the tournament progressed, the children continued to work tirelessly, battling through a demanding schedule of matches. Further draws demonstrated the team’s defensive strength and discipline, while narrow defeats came only after hard-fought contests against very strong sides. The tournament ended on a high with an impressive 2–1 win, a fitting reward for the team’s effort, commitment, and teamwork across the day.
Overall, the team played with great spirit, resilience, and positivity, representing Park Road superbly throughout the competition. A brilliant experience and performance for everyone involved—well done!

Year 6 Sportshall Athletics
On Wednesday 14th January, our entire Year 6 class took part in the Sportshall Athletics competition at Altrincham Grammar School for Girls, marking the first sporting event of the new term.
The event saw schools from across the local area competing in a wide range of fast-paced and exciting indoor athletics activities. Every child had the opportunity to represent Park Road, taking part in a mixture of running, jumping, and throwing events, while also learning the importance of teamwork, encouragement, and resilience.
The atmosphere throughout the afternoon was fantastic, with the team showing great enthusiasm, determination, and sportsmanship in every event. It was wonderful to see the whole class supporting one another and embracing the challenge of competing against strong opposition.
