
Netball Friendly vs Willows Primary School – 21.05.26
On Thursday 21st May, a mixed Key Stage 2 netball team travelled to play a friendly match against Willows Primary School. The squad included children from Year 3 through to Year 6, giving pupils across the key stage the opportunity to represent Park Road and gain valuable match experience.
The game was played in a fantastic spirit throughout, with both teams showing great teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship. Park Road worked hard from start to finish, creating some excellent passages of play and showing real improvement as the match progressed.
Despite a close and competitive contest, Willows narrowly came out on top with a 7–5 victory. However, the score certainly did not take away from what was a brilliant experience for all involved, with every player contributing positively to the team effort.
It was great to see children from across Key Stage 2 playing together, encouraging one another, and representing the school so well. Well done to everyone who took part!

School of Play FIVES Tournament Campions – 22.05.26
What an incredible day for the Park Road football team, who were crowned School of Play Girls FIVES Tournament Champions after a series of outstanding performances throughout the competition!
The tournament began in spectacular fashion with a dominant 10–0 victory over Bridgehall. The team played with confidence and energy from the very first whistle, producing some superb attacking football and clinical finishing.
The second game proved to be one of the matches of the tournament, as Park Road edged out Urmston 3–2 in a thrilling contest. One of the goals was a true goal-of-the-season contender, featuring a brilliant solo run beating three players before finding the net — a moment that had everyone watching applauding.
Momentum continued to grow with another excellent performance in a 5–2 win against St Monica’s, before the girls produced yet another attacking masterclass in an emphatic 8–0 victory over The Willows.
The final two matches were closely fought encounters against strong opposition. A hard-earned 1–1 draw with Higher Openshaw and a competitive 2–2 draw against Chorlton CE ensured Park Road remained unbeaten through the closing stages of the tournament.
Across the day, the girls showcased fantastic teamwork, creativity, determination, and sportsmanship, playing some of the best football of the entire competition.

School of Play FIVES Tournament – 22.05.26
The team took part in the exciting School of Play FIVES Boys Tournament on 22nd May 2026, competing against a range of strong schools in a fast-paced morning of football.
Park Road started the tournament in brilliant form with an emphatic 6–1 victory over Bridge Hall. The team attacked with confidence, moved the ball superbly, and showed excellent finishing throughout the game.
The second match against Hollins Grundy was much closer, with Park Road battling hard in a narrow 2–1 defeat. Despite the result, the team showed great determination and created several good chances.
The team then came up against two particularly strong teams in Urmston Primary and Plymouth Grove. Although the scorelines were difficult, the team continued to work tirelessly and never stopped competing against high-quality opposition.
One of the highlights of the afternoon came in a thrilling 4–3 victory over Crosslea. Park Road showed fantastic character and attacking quality in an entertaining match full of goals, securing a deserved win after an excellent team performance.
The final game against Higher Openshaw was another challenging encounter, but the side continued to battle right until the final whistle and should be proud of the effort and resilience they showed throughout the day.

Tag Rugby Tournament – 20th May 2026
Park Road took part in an exciting Tag Rugby Tournament on 20th May 2026, competing against several schools from across the local area in a fantastic afternoon of sport at Trafford Metrovicks.
The team made a strong start to the tournament with two entertaining 2–2 draws, showing great teamwork, quick passing, and determination in both matches. As the tournament progressed, confidence began to grow, and Park Road followed up with two excellent 2–1 victories, battling hard and showing real resilience in closely fought games.
One of the standout matches of the afternoon came in a high-scoring contest that ended in a 5–3 defeat, with the team continuing to attack positively and never giving up despite facing strong opposition.
The tournament ended on a real high, with Park Road producing an excellent final performance to secure a convincing 5–2 victory, rounding off the day in superb fashion.
Overall, the team finished an impressive 3rd place out of 7 schools, an excellent achievement and a brilliant reflection of their teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the event. Well done to everyone involved!

Trafford Leadership Festival – Cloverlea Primary School (07.05.26)
On Thursday 7th May, a group of our Year 5 children attended the Trafford Leadership Festival at Cloverlea Primary School as part of their ongoing Sports Leadership qualification.
During the event, the Year 5 leaders were responsible for planning, organising, and delivering activities to multiple groups of Year 2 pupils from schools across the local area. The children showed fantastic leadership skills throughout the day, demonstrating confidence, communication, teamwork, encouragement, and responsibility while leading their sessions.
The Park Road Year 2 group thoroughly enjoyed the experience, taking part in a wide range of fun and engaging activities delivered both by our own leaders and by sports leaders from other schools attending the festival. The event created a brilliant atmosphere full of energy, teamwork, and positivity.
It was wonderful to see our Year 5 children representing Park Road so well while successfully completing another important part of their Sports Leadership qualification. Well done to everyone involved for a fantastic day!

Sale Summer Cup (Year 3/4) – 24.04.26
The Year 3/4 team took part n the Sale Summer Cup, competing in a closely contested group where every result proved crucial.
The opening game saw Park Road narrowly beaten 1–0 by St Joseph’s, in a tight match that could easily have gone either way. The team responded brilliantly, showing resilience and determination to bounce back with a 1–0 win over St Vincent’s, thanks to a well-taken goal.
Confidence continued to grow in the next fixture, with another strong performance leading to a 1–0 victory against Brooklands. The team showed excellent organisation and composure, securing back-to-back wins and putting themselves firmly in contention for progression.
The final group game against Springfield ended in a hard-fought 0–0 draw, with Park Road once again demonstrating their defensive strength. Unfortunately, despite their strong performances, the team were narrowly knocked out on goal difference, highlighting just how competitive the group was.
In the 5th place playoff, Park Road faced Park Road Sale in another close encounter. The team battled well throughout but were edged out 2–1 in a game that could have gone either way.
Overall, it was a positive tournament with plenty of encouraging performances. The team showed great resilience, teamwork, and determination throughout, and can be proud of how they competed. Well done to everyone involved!
