Inclusion

At Park Road Academy, inclusion is not a separate initiative. It is at the heart of everything we do.

We believe that every child, regardless of their background, ability, individual needs or circumstances, deserves an exceptional education, a genuine sense of belonging and every opportunity to achieve, participate and thrive. Our commitment is not simply to ensure that children can access education, but to remove the barriers that may prevent them from experiencing the very best of school life.

We recognise that equality does not always mean treating every child in exactly the same way. It means understanding each child as an individual, recognising their strengths and aspirations, and providing the right support, opportunities and reasonable adjustments to help them succeed.

We do not lower our aspirations for children who face barriers. We strengthen the support, adapt our approaches and work together to help them overcome those barriers.

From our ambitious curriculum and extensive enrichment programme to personalised support, emotional wellbeing, life skills and pupil leadership, we are committed to ensuring that every child is a valued and active member of our school community. Our approach is rooted in strong relationships with children and families, early identification of needs, skilled and reflective staff, and a determination to continually improve.

Supporting Every Stage of the Journey

Inclusive Transitions:

We support children as they enter school, move between year groups and prepare for secondary education, with enhanced transition arrangements where needed.

Representation and Opportunity

We ensure our curriculum, books, resources, careers education and wider experiences reflect diversity, challenge stereotypes and broaden aspirations.

Evaluating Our Impact

We review children's learning, progress, attendance, participation, wellbeing and independence to understand what is working and where support can be strengthened.

The Difference Our Inclusion Makes

Inclusion is not measured simply by the support we provide, but by the difference it makes to children's experiences and outcomes.
