Restart a Heart Day – Learning Lifesaving Skills
At Park Road Academy, we believe that education goes beyond the classroom and that equipping children with essential life skills can make a real difference. As part of Restart a Heart Day on 16th October, all our Key Stage 2 pupils will take part in live, interactive awareness sessions delivered by the North West Air Ambulance Charity. During these sessions, children will learn how to recognise the signs of a cardiac arrest, understand when and how to call 999, explore the importance of CPR and early intervention and discover the lifesaving work of the North West Air Ambulance Charity. This valuable experience forms part of our wider commitment to personal development, health education and preparing children for life beyond school. By introducing lifesaving awareness at primary school age, we aim to develop confident, responsible and compassionate young people who understand the importance of helping others and taking action in an emergency. We want every child to recognise that, regardless of their age, they have the potential to make a difference and even help save a life.
