⚽ Boys’ Football League – First Fixtures of the Season (22.09.26)

The team in the Boys' League got their new league season underway on Tuesday 22nd September, and despite the results not quite reflecting their performances, there were plenty of positives to take from the afternoon.

The opening game against Oldfield Brow was a closely fought contest. Park Road played some lovely football and created opportunities, but were unfortunately edged out 1–0.

The second fixture against Willows produced another strong performance, with the boys showing excellent organisation and composure to earn a 0–0 draw. They looked increasingly confident in possession and were unlucky not to find the breakthrough.

The team continued to impress in their third game against Elmridge, twice finding the back of the net in an entertaining 2–2 draw. Park Road played some excellent attacking football and showed great character to remain competitive throughout.

The final game against Forest Prep was another frustratingly close encounter. Despite creating chances and playing some attractive football, the boys narrowly lost 1–0.

Although the results may not tell the full story, the performances certainly do. The boys showed considerable improvement, played some excellent football and were unlucky not to come away with more from several of the games. With plenty of positives to build on, the team can look forward to the next round of league fixtures with confidence.
