About our Academy Trust
Academy Trust
There are 3 trust members who are responsible for everything that goes on in school.
Trust Board Overview
The Trust Board holds delegated powers from the Trust, serving as a vital link between the Trust, teaching staff, and the local community. Its composition includes parent trustees elected through a secret ballot, one teacher trustee, one non-teaching staff trustee elected by the staff, and the Headteacher. Additionally, three trustees are co-opted from the local community, with a specific focus on local business representation.
The Trustees bear a general responsibility for establishing policies and ensuring effective school management within the parameters outlined by national legislation. However, the day-to-day operations of the school fall under the control of the Headteacher.
Key areas of responsibility for the Trust Board encompass school finance, the upkeep and utilisation of school premises, the appointment of the Headteacher(s) and other staff, determination of school hours and holidays, oversight of the curriculum, pupil admissions, discipline matters, and the suspension of pupils.
Regular meetings, occurring at least once a term, facilitate the governance process. Ultimately, the Trustees are accountable to the Members and the Department of Education for the school's overall operation. Embracing the ethos of the school partnership at Park Road, the Trust Board operates voluntarily, working tirelessly for the benefit of the school, with the well-being of the pupils at the forefront.
