Learning Together Morning
Thank you to our families for joining us and sharing in our learning. We loved taking part in the different rainforest activities with you.
We had a great time visiting Chester Zoo to ignite our Rainforest topic. It was great fun being trainee conservationists during our workshop, and we enjoyed learning about the four layers of the rainforest.
We had lots of fun playing in the snow together. We worked together to roll huge snow balls and make snowmen.
In our Maths lessons, we have enjoyed learning about the properties of 3D shapes. We had lots of fun making our own, everyday 3D shapes.
We have really enjoyed writing our own scripts for the story of The Snowman. We loved working in small groups to act out our scene first. Our performances helped us to think of some great speech to write in our scripts.
Stone Age Experience day
I really enjoyed Stone Age Day. First, we listened to some interesting information about what life was like during the Stone Age. Then, we played a fun hunting game. The hunters had to come up with a plan to catch the other team and take their hats. Then we swapped.
Next, we went to the park and collected different types of sticks. When we came back to school we had a go at rubbing rocks together to make flour. After that, we sorted the sticks that we collected in the park, and used them to make a fire with some fat and cotton wool. We also had to rub two pieces of metal together to start the fire. We used our fire to do some cooking which was exciting. We cooked bread, sardines and eggs. People in the Stone Age had to work very hard to get their food.
