Timperley: A History
This week, we have finished publishing our second piece of writing for this year. In connection with our Topic lessons about our local area, we researched and produced written reports about Timperley (where our school is based!).
We really enjoyed being able to create an aged, historical effect on our finished pieces using coffee stains!
For our current unit of work in English, we are preparing to write historical reports about our local area. After igniting our learning with a trip to the park, we then returned to the classroom where we planned, researched and drafted our writing.
We are really excited to publish our finished pieces and displaying them in the classroom!
We are Photographers
This half term, we have been practising our photography skills. To begin, we went out into our local area with our home-made viewfinders. Our aim was to find interesting shots of nature with particular emphasis on framing the shot effectively.
I'm a Year 6 pupil. Can you get me out of here?
As part of our new Geography unit learning about the local area, we were lucky enough to take a trip to our local park - Newton Park - to explore the setting, including the old school building which now stands derelict! It was a great way to ignite our learning.
