Developing a Global Citizenship Programme

Based on First Hand Experiences

A team from Park Road Academy Primary School joined Hope for Justice in Uganda during their February half-term. Hope for Justice exists to bring an end to modern slavery by preventing exploitation, rescuing victims, restoring lives and reforming society. The team spent a week in Uganda, not just observing what happens out there; but being actively involved in the projects. Using the skills they have developed within education and working with children, their aim was to deliver high quality training to teachers and offer hands-on practical experiences for children to engage in. In addition, they had the opportunity to visit communities, in the most rural areas, to help understand the complex and hidden challenges that face families. The experience will help the team to develop a high quality global citizenship programme for 2020-21.
